Fish were here long before us. In evolutionary terms, humans are latecomers and, if you go back far enough, descendants of fish ourselves. Yet we catch them on such a scale that many populations are overfished, and we rarely think about them when we intrude on their space.

Strangely enough, they don't seem to mind much either. But is that really so, or is it just how it looks from a human point of view?

Do fish have personalities? Are they sentient? Are they aware of their surroundings?

This work invites people to question the assumption that the feelings we know as humans belong to humans alone.
